Veterans have given so much for our country and they continue to do so even after they return home. They often face many challenges, such as PTSD, physical injuries, unemployment and homelessness. This is why it’s important for us to donate to veterans organizations-so that they can get the help and support that they need. Your donation can make a big difference in the life of a veteran!
There are many veterans near you in California who could use your help. The state is home to more than 2 million veterans, and many of them live below the poverty line. You can help by donating your time or money to one of the many organizations that support veterans in California.
California Leads The Nation In Homeless Veterans
California is home to the largest population of homeless veterans in the country. Despite making up only 11% of the total veteran population, they account for around a third of all homeless veterans. There are many reasons for this, but often it comes down to a lack of access to resources and services. This can be especially difficult for those who have served our country honorably.
According to the latest numbers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, California leads the nation in homeless veterans. In total, there are more than 57,000 homeless veterans in America, and nearly 19,000 of them are living on the streets of California. This is a major problem, and much work still needs to be done to get these veterans off the streets and into permanent housing. Thankfully, there are organizations working tirelessly to address this issue and help these veterans get back on their feet.
