Welcome to Soldiers of America. My name is Joel Zubaid and I have been fortunate enough to call this great nation my home for the last 35 years. My biological father is a retired church pastor who served in the ministry for 57 years. When I moved to the United States of America, I was adopted by Captain Robert Neil Kingrey, a former Marine who fought in the Vietnam war. Robert taught me unique things in life and I am proud to say I am here living the American dream because of him. While Robert was alive, we had lot of fun together; we traveled the world, worked on automobiles, enjoyed many BBQ nights while listening to music from the 50s & 60s, argued often but five minutes later we would be best buddies again. When narrating the harrowing details of his wartime stories, one could feel his anguish while still marveling at the immense courage these soldiers had. Robert was kind, generous, quick witted and wise. We knew each other’s quirks and interests. Often we would exchange gifts. He was a nature enthusiast and loved long drives exploring the Californian landscape. So, when he learned that my gift to him on his 70th birthday was an RV, he was beyond delighted. My most prized gift from Robert was his Marine Corps NCO sword and his Purple Heart Medal. After Robert passed away, I re-gifted those treasures to his widow, Elizabeth. Robert had introduced me to lot of his friends who were also veterans and we would all spend quality time together. After Robert’s passing, my interaction with veterans overall dwindled. It felt like there was a big void in my life and I pondered long hours on how to fill it. Through sincere prayer and research, I was guided to start Soldiers of America (SOA). My motto originally, was to help one veteran at a time, utilizing the limited resources from within my small trusted circle which includes my wife Dr. Andrea and my partner David. We have since helped many veterans and their families financially, by paying for their housing, grocery, health care bills and above all being there for them emotionally. In last few years, we have noticed a meaningful impact on these veteran’s lives. Now our motto has evolved and we believe its time that Soldiers of America expands! In the near future, we will be hosting walks and other charity events to raise funds in helping as many veterans as we can. Your contribution in achieving this goal can help many veterans turn their lives around. By volunteering your time or becoming a financial donor, you would have further rewarded their sacrifice. Soon, we will be launching our own e-commerce website, where you can purchase products for yourself, your household, your church or on behalf of your company. Pricing will be competitive and all profits directed towards betterment of our service men & women. Lets make their lives and their families more comfortable. Together, lets uphold our veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our freedom, our safety and our rights.
